Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Course

Macromedia Flash MX 2004 is one of the most popular applications used to develop animations and other creative content. Its robust features ensure that it enjoys wide usage on the World Wide Web. This three part series aims to help develop skills necessary to create, update, publish and deploy Internet applications in Flash. It covers screens and other built-in components of the application, data binding, behaviours, and introduces the ActionScript language.

This course introduces learners to the basics of Macromedia Flash MX 2004. The course has two units, Flash MX 2004 Fundamentals and Movie Clips and ActionScript. The Flash MX 2004 Fundamentals covers the toolbar, menu bar, frames, layers, colors, and tweening. The Movie Clips and ActionScript unit introduces the concept of movie clips and covers the basics of ActionScript.

Understanding ActionScript introduces learners to the new features of ActionScript 2.0 and provides them with a broad-level framework. Working with ActionScript covers the main aspects of ActionScript namely, handling events, using the ActionScript syntax, and working with data. Working with Functions and Statements provides an overview of the types of functions and statements. Finally, Working with Movie Clips covers working with target paths and controlling movie clips.

Keimos Web Design Courses

Our courses use simulations extensively to provide opportunities for students to learn & practice skills-based content. This 'learning by doing' model is far more effective than the traditional true/false, multiple choice approach. Live application software is not needed.

Interactive content is used often in the courses to engage the learner's attention, to reinforce and exercise skills being taught, and to provide feedback on the learner's grasp of a skill or concept.

CertCities.com readers picked CIW as the best Web/Internet certification to hold.

Best Web/Internet Certification

Winner: Prosoft Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) Professional
Finalists: Macromedia Dreamweaver MX Developer, CompTIA i-Net+

ProsoftTraining.com's CIW remained your pick for the best Web/Internet certification to hold, thanks to its “well rounded and vendor-neutral, focusing on logistics, configuration and skills in the working environment,” as one reader stated.

Even those not in this specialty appear to have respect for this title. Said another reader, “This is not my area, but my colleagues say CIW...”

Macromedia's Dreamweaver MX Developer came in a close second. “I feel that Macromedia is widely used and is probably a bit more user friendly,” said Glenda Simmons, a network systems engineer from Fresno, Calif.

i-Net snagged the second finalist position thanks to its coverage of Web fundamentals. As Harbour explained, “There's more to the Internet and the Web than just programming. You have to know the servers and how the Internet runs. Having a good foundation is vital to anything you do with the Internet.”
